With the large number of frequency-sensitive equipment in the power grid, code of power system security proposes more detailed and strict frequency recovery criterion (FRC) to make the frequency-sensitive equipment safely ride through frequency dynamics, and ensure frequency stability. To face to the FRC requirement, this paper proposes a response-driven adaptive load shedding strategy for the receiving-end power system. An FRC-oriented intelligent fuzzy controller of load shedding is developed, and logical inference rules for preventing over- or under-shedding problems are introduced. Base
After high-frequency oscillation occurs in a certain area of the wind farm, it may affect other areas, leading to large-scale oscillation of the entire wind farm. Taking a domestic doubly-fed wind farm with static var generator (SVG) as an example, the equivalent high frequency impedance model of the wind farm is established. Then, the phenomenon of large-scale oscillation in wind farms caused by high-frequency oscillation in a certain area is studied. The results show that wind farms can be divided into regions by contacting transformers, and the high-frequency oscillation risk of wind far
The dynamic response speed of AC voltage of flexible high voltage direct current (HVDC) converter connected to weak AC grid is manly related to the parameters of AC voltage controller, SCR, steady state operating points and equivalent capacitance paralleled at point of common coupling (PCC). Firstly, due to the lack of analytical calculation of the parameters of AC voltage controller and analysis of their limiting factors, the key influence variables and participations of eigenvalues related to dynamic response and stability have been analyzed according to the distribution of zeros and pole
Cascaded H-bridge (CHB) is a promising topology for utility-scale photovoltaic generation due to its advantages like modularity, scalability, and capability of direct access to medium voltage grids. However, owing to the large quantity of components in the circuit, CHB is less reliable. As one common fault, the DC-link voltage sensor fault will cause the current/voltage mistracking and power mismatch, which will further lead to unbalanced DC-link voltages and even system instability. To address this issue, in this paper, a coupling-dc strategy is proposed to improve the system reliability f
Regenerative braking energy utilization system plays an important role in the recovery and utilization of renewable energy, energy saving and carbon reduction of electrified railway. However, the regenerative braking energy utilization system based on power flow control technology will change the original power flow of traction power supply system, and its fault protection is very important to ensure the safety of electrified railway operation. Therefore, this paper studies the fault protection scheme of regenerative braking utilization system of electrified railway. Firstly, according to t
